audience Reviews
, 95% Audience Score- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsAs a lifelong Dylan die hard, this was a must see for me. While I found it generally enjoyable, it wasn't exactly accurate or compelling, and I'm not sure it will last beyond awards season in the minds of general audiences.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsThis movie was so underwhelming. Most of the time I was confused as to what was going on, and the flow of it all was so choppy and left sooo many holes. I don't know much about Bob Dylan at all and was hoping this would teach me some things to learn about him and his music... but it fell so flat of that. While is showed his two relationships with Sylvie and Joan for most of it, it also didn't portray why it wasn't working with either of them. Honestly it just portrayed him as an asshole and now I don't even wanna learn anymore about him or even listen to his music. I don't get it at all.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsStarted off strong but lost it's stream as it went.
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsAn excellent portrayal of Bob by Mr chalamet. Great movie. Tim Treakle
- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsThe music and the performance by Timothy Chalamet was a bright spot in what to me amounted to a prolonged music video. Compared to Elvis and Walk the Line, this movie was underwhelming.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsCame of age a little after Dylan's time in the spotlight, but became an aficionado of his time and impact from a history of American Popular Music class I took in college in the early 90's. Absolutely loved this movie portrayal of him. The acting, the singing, the time period portrayal. Really entertaining to take it all in. Thought Timothee Chalamet nailed the performance. And Ed Norton's performance was right up there with American History X as what I'd consider his best performances.
- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsBefore seeing this film, I was a fan of Dylan's genius. I am still a fan, but this movie portrays him to be selfish and unlikeable. If you're looking for a film about an artist's struggle to overcome adversity...this isn't it.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsExcellent film!!! Like going to a concert through time!!!
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsI thought this was a pretty decent biopic and it sparked a lot of memories for me of listening to Dylan with my dad who was a huge fan, even after he went electric. The performances were top notch and the story was sweet and had melody and a good pace to it. Much like a Dylan song. Really worth a watch.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsFilled to the brim with perfect performances, this film is the perfect opportunity to discover an artist and music that i previous had very little exposure to and has since become a soundtrack I've returned to and even explored the original albums. I did however find this pacing to be all over the place and a lack of dates after any period of time jumps left me confused about the timeline of events in this film and often felt it was a questionable choice to not include any indication to dates/years throughout its runtime.
