People pleeeeaaase, go and watch this movie! I totally did not want to watch it, because i was not interested in another „Pretty Woman“ story, but this is on another level. Smart, disturbing, funny, thoughtprovoking and overall a fantastic rollercoaster of emotions packed in a compelling story. The cast is superb and well chosen. The shots are beautiful. So worth it, left me with a special feeling..

A very different and provocative spin on 1990's Pretty Woman, masterfully driven by a stellar performance by Mikey Madison. I was glad to see some Oscar buzz about Madison out there, because she is certainly worthy. This was a very demanding role, and it's obvious she put a lot of hard work and preparation into playing Ani. The result was an authentic and well crafted portrayal of a stripper who gets a brief turn at living the fairy tale, then has to deal with some harsh realities when her carriage goes full pumpkin. Madison and Mark Eydelshteyn lead a well-chosen cast. The film goes to some dark places, and the warning about strong sexual content should be taken quite seriously. It's gritty and compelling, even though a few scenes and subplots strayed into tedious territory at times (We get it ... he's not answering his phone!). But aside from the need for a little tightening up in the editing phase, this one is absolutely worth seeing.

"Anola" creates vivid and distinctive characters. As the protagonist, Enola’s dramatic journey from being a sex worker to becoming involved in a high-society marriage is full of twists and turns. She represents the yearning of marginalized individuals for true love and a prosperous life, with her innocence clashing strongly against harsh reality. The plot develops with constant surprises; when the groom’s parents arrive from Russia to sabotage the marriage, the story takes a sudden turn, but amidst the chaos, it reveals an absurd humor. Each character in this farcical plot is portrayed vividly, and their motivations and reactions push the story forward, immersing the audience in this seemingly bizarre yet incredibly real situation. The film carries a profound social message. It is not just a simple romantic comedy, but more like a mirror reflecting issues such as social class disparities, family values, and cultural conflicts. The stark contrast between Enola’s lower-class background and the groom's wealthy family highlights the clash in values and lifestyles, showcasing the division within society. At the same time, the film also subtly suggests the fragility of love in the face of material and social pressures, sparking reflections from the audience about social reality and human nature. Loved it, if me and my friends could talk about a movie without being rude we would’ve. I loved every part of it, from the funny, to the dramatic and even the sad parts.

I disliked Anora for a variety of reasons. First of all the title character is written with hardly any depth or agency. The male characters get far more development. The movie is titled Anora, this shouldnt have been the case and is very disappointing. The second act is literally a copy of 9 other movies. The worst part of Anora, besides its writing, is just how unoriginal it is. I wanted to like this film but I did not. Violence against sex workers is not a punchline either, whatever message Sean Baker was trying to exude here is lost in a chaotic shallow mess of a movie. A total miss for me.

Ratings crazy overinflated, movie was a drag. Waste of time, Protagonist is hot, just okay actress. Who wants to hear Russian and Staten island accents for 2 hours? RT has turned mid movies in 90%+, it's b.s. feel robbed.

Excellent movie and portrayal of the exotic dancer life. She does a fantastic job and everyone involved does an excellent job.

I can’t recall the last time I felt so differently about a film compared to others. But, here we are. “Anora” for all it is failed to charm me and resonate with me. This film is all Mikey Madison’s character’s story. And don’t be surprised, she’s great. But my issue is with the story. It starts off great but quickly takes a nose dive in my opinion. Without giving away anything you don’t see in the trailer, Madison plays an exotic dancer / sex worker who surprise is drawn to a wealthy Russian family’s son. At first it’s all money, but everything about him is reckless, young and immature. But, she’s drawn to the money as most women in her position are. The audience is supposed to believe at some point they fall in love but she seems to love the lifestyle and money that her new beau can bring. What transpires on screen is a complete train wreck of stupid Russian gangsters, odd family dynamics, and Madison fighting for a relationship with an immature little punk who can’t man up to his parents. It’s her story no doubt and the ending is equal parts bizarre. I can’t give this film a positive review because it doesn’t offer anything new and really what I took away from this is some women continue to chase money instead of love and cry when they realize a man with money often isn’t a great man. Skip this one.
