This film was very self indulgent I thought. Spoke to a very tiny "in world"...and wasn't as Woody Allen funny as it probably thought it was .

    Somewhat entertaining Jewish schtick

Enjoyable movie. Not as straightforward as Nobody Wants This, the Netflix romcom with the hot rabbi.. Schwartzman's cantor is less hot, more troubled. Some odd moments, some awkward moments. Carol Kane is a joy to watch.

Uproariously and intelligently funny but also endearing and resonant, boasting realistic, vibrant characters and a great leading duo in Jason Schwartzman and the always fantastic Carol Kane, and often engaging in unexpected and thus all the more fascinating visual detours, "Between The Temples" is a refreshing and immaculately made exploration of loss, love, religion, family and music that never puts a foot wrong (except perhaps the exaggerated, farcical development of the final dinner scene).

Looked forward to it because of the cast. Starting seeing holes in the plot. Then innuendos of inappropriate relationships. One downright icky scene. Then finished out with a completely icky scene. Ugh.

About ten absolutely unlikely events in the first 15 minutes. Had to stop there. Also, strange casting (can't take 90 minutes of Carol Kane) and I'm always bored by all the Jewish hokum.

Enjoyed it. Was funny, and touching at times. Carol and Jason are great in film.

If you saw the trailer and said “hey! I like movies like that!” You will like this movie. The low audience ratings are from people who probably don’t usually enjoy smart, creative, sometimes slow moving films with heart and realism. The movie is funny, touching and entertaining if you have a brain.

Shameful, quite possibly the worst movie I ever saw. Do not waste your time & money. How could they have ever made such a horrible movie. Not 1 positive comment to make.
