It increases in power as it proceeds, as Violeta and Eva grow older and gain sharper understandings of their father’s flaws.

[Lacorazza Samudio] has a finely tuned radar for emotional nuance, and "In the Summers" is an honest film about forgiveness, growth and acceptance of one's limitations.

Lacorazza manages to capture the sense of longing for connection that can be felt between estranged parents and their children while at the same time recognizing that some rifts can’t be healed by any number of summer breaks.
