I enjoyed this film very much. My footing was unsure initially because it opened with some French language and some subtitles, so I wasn't sure if it was all subtitled. I was relieved to learn that it was not, because I failed to check in advance to see if that was the case. It was a good blend of languages, the acting was understated but effective and I couldn't help but cheer for the leading character almost immediately. The comedy was pretty gentle but that fit in nicely with the mood of the film. I took a friend as a birthday surprise and it went over very well. I do recommend the film, especially for those who are thoughtful, emotionally intelligent viewers who need a break from magic, hack and slash, explosions and superhero stuff. Enjoy!

It was interesting. Would have appreciated knowing that some parts had English captions when French was spoken. Movie itself was likely more appealing to women ( not being chauvinistic or. Politically Incorrect) as a guy ( and I identify as one) it may be a bit to mushy , but overall it had a good plot. The two lead main actors were very good and the main lead actress was excellent. Ladies invite your guy to go see it and if he says no - go see it yourself anyway. It was worth seeing.

Good movie about literature and love. It was unexpectedly funny at times too. Although I didn’t realize most of the dialogue would be in French, I didn’t mind the English subtitles because I have them set up on one of my TVs at home.

The movie is in French with English subtitles. Slow moving. A few funny lines in it. Nice scenery., but rather boring.

A beautiful romantic story about life,, poetry, and love. Beautiful cinematography, great music. In the vein of Merchant Ivory, but lighter, funnier, and mostly in French, with subtitles.

Beautiful settings and scenery in France and England. Strong, vulnerable, engaging leading lady and a pair of disparate leading men combined for some funny moments and a satisfying love story. The elderly owners of the house in England were charming. The house guests were very superficially developed I would like to have known more about them. No surprises but a good love story.
