I love Liza! I’ve had the pleasure of seeing her perform on multiple occasions. “Stepping Out” is one of my favorite movies and Lucy 2 is the best character on “Arrested Development.” Having shared that, this documentary lacked something important…it lacked Liza! In a clunky format, the film focuses more on the people who influenced Liza, rather than the icon herself. It also focuses heavily on showing that Liza was able to crawl out of the shadow of her mother, Judy Garland. Anyone who has followed Liza knows this already, yet the movie continues to bring it up. I would have loved to learn more about what Liza is doing these days as well as highlight her reflecting and going deeper into the highs and lows of her life and career. “Cabaret” is the only project they devote any real time to, which is a shame as Liza has accomplished so much. There was also no mention of her incredible philanthropy work. Unfortunately, there’s nothing new learned for even an average fan. I hope her memoir provides more insights and introspection. I would have also liked them to include more with Lorna and their brother, Joey (who wasn’t part of the documentary). I was entertained, but also disappointed as there’s an even more fabulous story to tell, if only the filmmakers would have let her tell it.

There are a lot of good clips of her performing, but if you go hoping to get some new and meaningful insights into who she is as a person, what drives her to work so hard, how she FELT about living in the shadow of her famous Mom, youll be disappointed. Did she ever sing and deliver a song QUIETLY, without a lot of loud razzmatazz?

I love Liza and will support anything with her at the theater but the documentary does her a disservice. We see a lot of other people and not a lot of Liza. She is alive and living and yet we hear so much of people talking about her in the past tense. I would have loved to hear her in her own words.

The Queen deserves her due, and this film gives it to Liza. and in turn, to us viewing this film. Insightful, beautifully organized, with tons of fascinating footage never before seen. You'll love this documentary if you already love Liza, but if you don't know enough about Liza to love her, get ready, because you're going to fall hard!

Id hoped for more of her history and more of Liza talking. A run time of nearly 2 hours felt much longer and also very repetitive.

Liza is someone to study. She is a truly terrific person and her love & genius go straight through you. She pierced through my soul in one of the performances where the camera was on her and she was reaching out to us -- and hit the bullseye -- electrifying everyone with her panoramic gaze and operatic vocals. And there were so many adorable behind the scenes moments showing her whimsical nature and the deep love & respect of her collaborators and friends. Long live Liza!!

A wonderful documentary showing the amazing stamina and resilience of beautiful Liza. Her journey was not always easy but she created her iconic persona and left her original and special legacy that still stands alone. I marvel at her strength and her honesty and genuine compassion for her friends and humanity.
