It's basically the epitome of absolute perfection in terms of absurd cinematography of gothic horror, and supernatural horror with the real Transylvanian vampire really is. It reinvents the wheel and infinitely surpasses any other classic horror and suspense films as well as works with vampires. Anyone who thought this film was bad, only one person, cannot call themselves a critic Film expert, and he is completely wrong, because taste is debatable, yes, gentlemen.

While we have seen many versions of the same story over the years, not many can do it with as much atmosphere and chills as Eggers.

All the hype about how special this movie is...is bs. This is not a must see or a great movie. It feels like a parody of an art house film. An over 2 hour movie that feels twice as long.

Nosferatu is a hauntingly beautiful masterpiece that defined the horror genre. With its eerie atmosphere, striking visuals, and Max Schreck’s unforgettable performance as Count Orlok, the film continues to mesmerize audiences a century later. Its use of shadow and silence creates a chilling, immersive experience. The bold ending is daring and unforgettable, leaving a lingering sense of dread and awe—an artistic risk that pays off without revealing too much. A timeless classic.

Nosferatu, directed by F.W. Murnau, is a hauntingly beautiful piece of cinematic history that continues to captivate audiences over a century after its release. As one of the earliest examples of horror on film, it set the standard for visual storytelling and atmosphere in ways that remain unmatched.

Something about Eggers really clicks with me - the atmosphere and visual perspective are unique - but I did find the acting uneven. This is probably unfair but I kept being reminded of Poor Things and the comparison was not flattering.

Imperfect, yet spellbinding. For myself I rate it 4.5/5 while I imagine most would rate it 4/5. My fondness for well made vampire flicks is showing... As Eggers is known for, his control of color and light are his trademarks. The film is a character study for each person: Thomas desire fine things and success, and will do anything to pursue his success. Ellen is unbridled passion, and is unable to control herself. Frederick is control for events beyond his control. Von Franz is obsession for science and the occult. Count Orlok feels more gruesome than at first is seen on screen. I kept thinking how his odor must be incredibly foul, radiating from him (perhaps) under his own control. For me, Orlok is the embodiment of a vampire who feels zero threat from Thomas, Frederick, or essentially any other. He radiates mastery of his foulness. I do wish we might have seen more of his powers and the conflict when they could be used. This tension is missing in the film. I also wanted to see a touch more of the foulness in Wisborg beyond rats and scurrying. I imagine that such evil is a catalyst for the destruction of any social norms, causing utter mayhem throughout the city. A herald of Orlok's arrival. Definitely worth the watch for any vampire movie fan.

Big shoes to fill...And I am afraid the movie did not achieve Nosferatu's poetry, love story, performances or aesthetic. It captures some of the atmosphere but completely misses the most essential elements of the storyline, becoming flat, and therefore, the audience does not feel anything. As the movie unfolds, it increases the disengagement with any existing character or events, becoming long and uninteresting. Some movies should not be remade. What a shame.
