New life exists in the pages of Jane Austen's book as her words are brought to new life. Leaping from the pages into this amazing adaptation of her stories. The acting and directing are superb and leave you aching for more.

I wanted to like this movie, really I did. The language I thought was appalling, and Georgiana’s quip that her brother must “force Elizabeth” to play duets was frankly eye rolling. Mrs Bennett was not obnoxious enough, we, the audience, were supposed to be as embarrassed as Elizabeth and there was nothing to be embarrassed about. This Mr and Mrs Bennett are also supposed to be barely able to stand each other & these two were clearly devoted to each other. I know the book isn’t necessarily for everyone but was it too much to ask that the director read the book?

A beautiful movie with beautiful costumes, set design, music, cinematography, and character portrayal. Pride & Prejudice (2005) is so utterly charming that you spend a great deal of the movie dreading that something bad might happen to the characters it so thoroughly convinces you to love and root for. It is a comfort movie that makes one feel warm, hopeful, nostalgic, and happy, and it is an utter escape from everything else going on in the world.
