September 5
audience Reviews
, 90% Audience Score- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsAn interesting film. It was about a news team capturing terrorists at the Olympics. The movie was very suspenseful. The actors did a good job. This was nominated for best picture - drama at The Golden Globes.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI am watching the movie again and it is bringing back vivid memories of the hours I spent glued to our tv watching this crime as it unfolds. We were one of a couple of families who had a tv, especially color, back in those days. Several of our neighbors were staying in our house for hours and hours a day to watch this. I can’t believe anyone could give this movie a bad review. Anybody who was watching the 72 Olympics, like me, was in shock as ABC Sports took over and started broadcasting this horrific crime in real time. No matter how old you are I highly recommend you watch this movie and if you have a movie library like me this is definitely a movie you will want in your collection. I have to give September 5 a double 👍👍up.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsA great movie and great acting
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsThe film "September 5" is a visual feast that almost elevates its narrative to an art form. The production design is a masterclass in subtle elegance: every set, costume, and meticulously lit frame reflects a passion for detail and commitment. The story is maybe known by many, but it was never shown or told like this before. A must see.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsAn incredibly gripping portrayal of ABC's coverage of the awful tragedy when Palestinian terrorists took Israeli Olympic athletes as hostages and subsequently killed them. It most certainly keeps you on the edge of your seat; just as I'd have imagined it had when the real events occurred. Certainly a must watch; the events should not be forgotten.
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsIncredible movie, not sure why we haven’t heard more about this
- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsVery mildly interesting in parts, I guess you had to be there.
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsGreat movie!! I was very familiar with the history and still this movie kept me on the edge of my seat! It was real, raw and made me feel as if I was in real time.
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsSEPTEMBER 5 masterfully creates an engrossing historical thriller while rarely leaving the newsroom. The attention to detail---technological, emotional and ethical---is consistently captivating. The film adroitly highlights the skill and complexity of broadcast journalism, and the responsibility of the media, without ever sermonizing. While simultaneously providing insight into the tragic attack at the 1972 Olympics, the film never loses focus on the challenges of understanding and interpreting events in real time, making it very timely indeed.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsI really enjoyed this movie, and thought the making of the movie from the historical perspective was done well and quite educating.
