September 5
audience Reviews
, 81% Audience Score- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsThis movie pulls you in and you lose track of time. I watched this tragedy live when I was a kid, and the movie shows a different view into what was happening. It seamlessly blended archival footage, and was believable throughout. I see this reporting as a precursor to the current news cycle and instant availability of information on our phones. The moral decisions of the time are still valid.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsA Taut Telling of September 5th from inside the ABC television control room and the ethical questions that the broadcasters faced that day as events unfolded. Does not preach, but presents the material for the viewer to decide. Well done.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsCertainly not worth a trip to the theater A dull and boring film .
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsWell put together and the first movie I've seen about this event. Stays true to facts, and while that may upset some, it's important to maintain history and not revise it.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsIt's just like watching the actual news cast. Watch it on television but don't pay for it.
- Rating: 0.5 out of 5 starsI wish I could submit a review for this film, but when we arrived to the theater, it wasn't playing there. Apparently the distribution company had pulled it from that theater at the last minute. Not sure why we weren't notified and offered a refund. Hope Fandango reaches out to us.
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsIn some places, it was difficult for me to hear and understand some of the dialogue. I understand that the characters were under a lot of pressure and their natural speech in such circumstances would sometimes be muttering, terse short phrases or grunts. But as an onlooker who wasn't in the room and isn't a part of newsroom culture, I couldn't always follow what was being said. Nonetheless, it was an excellent film which explored several meaningful themes, When my husband and I left the theater, we felt like we had been through the wringer, which is probably the effect the director had in mind. Well worth seeing!
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsmovie was cancelled without any notification from Fandango. so my rating is not for the movie, which we haven't been able to see. luckily, the manager at theater was cool and processed a refund for us (which the Fandango app wouldn't do, even though the movie was cancelled, which is out of our control)... the manager let us also see any of the movies that weren't cancelled for free. She was a rock star! btw, one of those days was a really cute movie. we loved it. Fandango gets one star for leaving us hanging without any notification or help.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsGreat procedural on the early days of TV journalism, well shot, well acted.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsGreat acting and an excellent script!
