The Accountant 2

It's a mixed bag, but it has enough working for it that it's worth checking out.

When it's the two of playing off each other, it works quite well.

The rest of the movie may still be as messy, but when Affleck and Bernthal are on screen together, you almost forget that none of it makes that much sense.

I’m tired of this stereotypical depiction of autism. It’s as if Hollywood has to assign superpowers to people on the spectrum in order for them to be accepted by mainstream audiences.

Affleck and Bernthal are in immediate harmony. Better than that, they make this strange, complicated, and honestly rather heartbreaking sibling relationship instantaneously genuine.

Even allowing for a certain level of baseline tastelessness in a contemporary Hollywood action movie, The Accountant 2 is nasty stuff.

They still haven't quite figured out the John Wick-lite formula but this is a step in the right direction for Affleck and O'Connor. Bernthal makes the movie.

Although, the pacing midway could've used a turbo boost, The Accountant 2 is entertaining and worth the watch.

This mostly fun, mostly fine action sequel makes some small improvements on its predecessor but also repeats some of the same mistakes, and makes some new ones.

'The Accountant 2' adds up to a terrific actioner for grownups.
