The Boondock Saints
audience Reviews
, 91% Audience Score- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsBad movie, reviews on this film confuse me. Anyone who gives this movie 5 stars must be a neanderthal. Critics are a little too harsh on this film its not that bad artistically and does hold some deeper commentary on religion, justice, and morality.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsA very nice, funny and active movie. Maybe you won't watch it a second time but it's surely worth to watch it the first time!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsThis movie was fantastic from start to finish, it was fun, action packed and funny in parts as well. An original premise that is unapologetic in it approach to story telling.
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsI hadn't watched this movie in over a decade when I started it a few nights ago. I thought that since my taste has changed so much since college, I may hate it now. I LOVED it. I know it was made in 1999, but I do wish some of the jokes weren't included. They can't change that now, though! This movie has heart. It's easy to root for the main characters. Norman Reedus (Murphy) and Sean Patrick Flanery (Connor) portray the brothers as so completely in sync, so loving toward each other, so wildly committed to protecting each other, and as such badasses who don't care about the repercussions of their actions as long as they believe they are doing the right thing, all while still allowing them to be seen as individual humans- incredibly flawed, violent, complex, maybe even helpful and good humans.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsDon’t have to say much but wow, dope af movie!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsYou can tell all through the film that Duffy was making something he really cared about. The film is dark and gritty, filled with Irish and Italian humor, and Ron Jeremy! One of those films where you're not quite sure why the critics hated it so much.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsBest St.Patricks Day movie ever! If you are a male from New England and haven't seen this movie go put it on now.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsI thourouhgly enjoyed this movie... The casting is magnificent. Now I know technically there's story issues but wtf, easily ignored so as to enjoy it anyways.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsOne word defines this film from start to finish. Fun. This film knows exactly what it is, a wacky, action packed dark comedy with a great cast and music. I went into this film extremely sceptical, but left understanding it's deserved cult status. The cast, particularly Willem Defoe, give a funny and surprisingly well acted performance (despite the films low budget). The music is awe inspiring. The overall tone and symbolism in the film are very enjoyable. Some things that hold the film back are a few plot holes/odd lines in the scrip, but these are soon forgotten as you sit back and watch the surprisingly well shot action scenes. This film is a must watch for any action comedy fans. 9/10.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsNorman Reedus can't do an Irish accent. Fun in parts
