The Last Showgirl
audience Reviews
, 72% Audience Score- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsPamela Anderson and Jamie Lee Curtis are outstanding. A really good film.
- Rating: 4.5 out of 5 starsBeautifully shot. Jamie Lee Curtis and Pamela Anderson give extraordinary performances.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsPersonally found this film to be captivating, perhaps Pamela Anderson giving a performance I have never seen before, the shots of Las Vegas, the sad truth of a world changing more and more every year, here depicting a perhaps unconsidered element of yester year that will never be seen again.
- Rating: 2.5 out of 5 starsSuper overrated, slow, so slow this sub 90 minute film felt like it was 3.5 hours long. Literally nothing happens for the whole film, there is no real backstory on the characters, or motivations, reasons for why they do what they do. And the ending, was it real? Did she die in a car crash? Was it a dream sequence? Was the daughter really there? Who knows, and who cares.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 starsVery depressing but nicely acted. Plot doesnt have a resolution but I guess it's supposed to be like that, like her life. Made me sad. She looks great without makeup, showing the aging. Perfect for the part. The filming was very artsy which was great. She is an icon, and hopefully her next role will be even bigger.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 starsIt's a well done and acted film about the Vegas shows that no longer exist. It's sad to see how how Shelly-Pamela Anderson works to make herself convinces self she did good make right choices for her art but did she??? Worth checking out
- Rating: 1 out of 5 starsIf you expect to see a spectacular Las Vegas show, you will be dissapointed. We never see any part of the stage show. It is mainly about women, particularly older woment, losing their dignity and sacrificing their lives for the glamour of a show. It is embarresing to watch some scenes when older women dance as though they were nubile youngsters. The picture quality is terrble, as it was shot on 16mm film, which looks blurred on a big screen. The dialogue sounds as though it was improvised and that the microphones were placed too near to the subjects. It was very sad but not enjoyable in any way.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 starsReally wish it was better and has a wonderful performance from Anderson but the messaging was so clearly signalled from the beginning the drama never quite went beyond 2nd gear.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsIts about hanging onto the best times of life, before you got older ,impatient and critical about your own decisions in life and the mistakes you made but didnt apologise for. This pulled at my heart and made me remember we are all only human and getting old is a blessing.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 starsThank you for this movie with Pam, she was great!
