"The Shrouds" has very interesting themes and some really nice humour. It tackles death, grief and sexuality in a thought-provoking way, its boldest moments being quite captivating, although the rest doesn't quite measure up to them. Its biggest drawback is that it's way too talky, and that grows wearisome. Moreover, regarding the political and technological subject matter, the film's perspective seems rather messy, which also puts a damper on the proceedings even if that messiness is intended.

Terrible, no plot, no action, no suspense, no thrills

The ending was confusing, would of gave it higher but the ending made if feel like it was a series ending and not a movie. I wasted 2 hours for a wow moment ending, but it just ended melodramatic.

A very strange meditation on grief that could only come from the mind of David Cronenberg.

After seeing the poor reviews from some audiences, I went to see the film in the cinema with low expectations. But the film is as good as any other David Cronenberg film. Those who like the style, like this one too. I loved the film and I loved Vincent Cassel's performance.

Starts out slow and weird, picks up and gets more weird. It definitely will make you focus to keep up with the plot. Bottom line, I came out of the movie feeling entertained.

This film seeped so deeply into my subconscious that I had a very strange dream about the titular shrouds the night I saw it. It's peak Cronenberg - if you don't like Cronenberg films, then you aren't going to like this film. Certain scenes reminded me of "Crash" and "Dead Ringers," both of which left my jaw on the floor and my mind in a state of "WTF did I just watch" - but I'm here for exactly that.

Not a good watch, bland film-making and convoluted script with many technical errors.

Pretentious film buffs will love this because it will annoy everyone else and give them a sense of superiority. Bad.

Can you give less than a half? What was this movie even about? Holy cow was this boring. I will say, I’d like to see what the main actor could do in a real movie. He is an excellent protagonist. I can’t believe they actually got Guy Pearce (doing his best Greg Kinnear impression) to do this movie. It had something to do with being able to use tech to watch a buried body rot and how foreign governments could use it to spy? Then the movie just ended.
