Akira Ifukube
Akira Ifukube boasts musical talents that have been featured in a variety of Hollywood productions. Ifukube began his entertainment career with his music featured in films like the Akemi Negishi drama "The Saga of Anatahan" (1952), "The Burmese Harp" (1956) and the Kenji Sahara sci-fi feature "Chikyu Boeigun" (1957). His music also appeared in "Rodan" (1958). In the sixties, Ifukube's music continued to appear on the silver screen, including in films like the dramatic adaptation "Chushingura" (1963) with Koshiro Matsumoto, "Shaka" (1963) and the Akira Takadara horror feature "Godzilla Versus The Thing" (1964). His work was also in the sci-fi picture "Kaitei gunkan" (1964) with Tadao Takashima. Ifukube's music was also featured in "Monster Zero" (1970) with Nick Adams, the horror film "War of the Gargantuas" (1970) with Russ Tamblyn and "The Human Revolution" (1973) with Tetsuro Tamba. His music was also featured in the drama "Bokyo" (1975) with Kinuyo Tanaka. Ifukube most recently worked on the Mizuho Yoshida action picture "Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah" (2004). Ifukube passed away in February 2006 at the age of 92.
