Jack Lowden

Actor Jack Lowden began impressing audiences with the depth of his performances as soon as he emerged on the British screen. Born in Essex, England but raised in Oxton, Scotland, Lowden attended dance classes with his brother Calum when they were children. Calum would prove so adept at the art form that he eventually went on to become a professional ballet dancer. Meanwhile, Lowden discovered his passion when he began acting with Edinburgh's Scottish Youth Theatre at age 10. By his teens, he was taking summer classes at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, and by college, he was studying at the prestigious Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. After graduating in 2011, Lowden made an appearance in an episode of "Mrs. Biggs" (ITV, 2012). The following year, he landed the role of Adam Roebuck on season one of "The Tunnel" (Sky TV, 2013- ) before returning to the stage to co-star in Henrik Ibsen's "Ghosts," winning the Ian Charleson Award and the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Supporting Actor. Soon after co-starring in the historical mini-series "The Passing Bells" (BBC, 2014) and playing Michael in a mini-series adaptation of "War & Peace" (BBC, 2016), Lowden landed the lead role in Christopher Nolan's highly acclaimed World War II drama "Dunkirk" (2017). Continuing his upward trajectory, Lowden's next role was that of iconic rock hero Morrissey in the pre-Smiths biopic "England is Mine" (2017).
