Zazie Beetz
Zazie Beetz, a German-born actress, split her time as a child between Berlin and Washington Heights, and discovered her love for acting by performing in theater productions in grade school. She continued performing in theater throughout high school and college, including a production of Death of a Salesman at her alma mater, Skidmore College. Beetz acted in various short film projects, and made her major feature film debut in horror comedy film "Applesauce" (2015). She starred as Vanessa in her television series debut alongside Donald Glover on the comedy-drama series "Atlanta" (FX, 2016- ), which was also created by Glover. 2016 proved to be a big year for Beetz, as she appeared in the Michael Shannon-led drama "Wolves" (2016), and played Noelle in the anthology comedy-drama series "Easy" (Netflix, 2016), created by Joe Swanberg. Beetz next appeared in a crime drama thriller called "Finding Her" (2016) alongside Johnny Whitworth. After co-starring in eco-thriller "Geostorm" (2017) opposite Gerard Butler, Beetz received her most high-profile role when she was cast in the action comedy sequel "Deadpool 2" (2018). However, the film encountered tragedy during filming when Beetz's stuntwoman Joi Harris was killed in an on-set accident while performing a motorcycle stunt.
